Recognizing Youth Leadership for Nature: Certificate Ceremony at INES and G.S. Nyabirasi

Roots & Shoots Rwanda celebrated an important milestone in its work with young environmental leaders — awarding certificates of recognition to outstanding Environment Club leaders at INES Ruhengeri and G.S. Nyabirasi.

The ceremony honored young people for something that too often goes unacknowledged: the quiet, consistent, determined work of showing up for the environment — week after week, session after session, activity after activity.

Who Was Recognized

Outstanding club leaders were selected based on their sustained commitment to environmental protection activities, their leadership within club sessions and school communities, and the visible positive impact they had on peers and the broader school environment.

These are students who could have spent that time differently. They chose to plant trees, run awareness campaigns, lead cleanups, and inspire their classmates. That choice deserves to be celebrated.
