In celebration of International Women's Day 2025, Roots & Shoots Rwanda, in partnership with the INES Environment Club and the Natural Guardian Club, established kitchen gardens for vulnerable single women in Rwambogo Cell.
The initiative was held under the theme:
"Women in Action for the Prevention of Malnutrition"
Volunteers and partners worked with vulnerable women in the community to:
Food insecurity and malnutrition remain significant challenges for vulnerable households across Rwanda. Kitchen gardens offer a sustainable, low-cost solution — empowering women to produce their own food, improve household nutrition, and take concrete steps toward health and self-reliance.
By connecting environmental action with social impact, this event reflects Roots & Shoots Rwanda's commitment to caring for people, animals, and the environment as interconnected priorities.
This activity is part of Roots & Shoots Rwanda's broader commitment to empowering women and vulnerable communities — recognizing that environmental sustainability and human well-being are inseparable goals.
