Roots & Shoots Rwanda, in partnership with KISEKI and the residents of Kimihurura Sector, led a community cleanup in Kimihurura Village — removing plastic waste from streets and homes and clearing overgrown bushes to enhance cleanliness and safety.

The discussion component was as important as the physical cleanup itself. By engaging residents directly, the event built a shared understanding of why litter prevention matters and how every household can contribute to a cleaner, safer neighborhood.
This reflects Roots & Shoots Rwanda's belief that lasting environmental change requires not just action, but awareness — and that communities are the most powerful agents of their own transformation.
